Travellers

March 09

Many of you have complained to me about the frequency of “travellers” setting up camp on Crockford Lane at the Chineham Business Park. The area in question is owned by Hampshire County Council (HCC) and I am actively investigating the possibility of installing barriers or other kind of preventive measure to deter them. This picture shows the type of preventative measures which can be put in place.

Exciting things happening in Chineham as spring is in the air!

March 09

I am continuing to work with HCC’s Principal Engineering officer and the Head Master of Great Binfields School in evaluating the results of the feasibility study report addressing improvements to pedestrian crossing facilities at the junction of Great Binfields Road and Little Binfields. By the time you will have read my column we would have had the open afternoon at the school for parents to come along and look at the proposed plans for improvements and received their comments. Hopefully I will be able to report back to you shortly on the Thornhill way Chineham Village Hall feasibility study that I requested which will look at improvements on what has become a very congested area. It is a particularly exciting time as there is quite a lot happening in Chineham at the moment. We have the extension to the Scout Hall, the Chineham Village hall extension, and the games area at the end of Binfields Farm Drive
